Hmmmmmmmm!!!

Morning Glory...

I believe that nature is one of the most magnificent messengers of the existence of God.  Billions of species of plant and animal life that astound the mind with their diversity and beauty. And yet, there are untold numbers of humans who will go into eternity today, having denied the very God, Who, surrounded them with His brilliance, so that they could know Him.

I was watching the little hummingbirds this morning flying around the new feeder I recently hung on my back patio.  The feeder is in the shape of an apple, with a petal like tube extending from the bottom.  The entire color of the feeder is red.  One small hummingbird kept approaching the apple, seemingly oblivious to the feeding tube.  It kept searching the surface of the apple for a place to feed, and then finally descended to the petal, and found the source of the nectar.

I hung another feeder next to it that is all green, except for a small reddish circle in the center of the four metal flowers.   The humming bird hovered for just a moment, and then immediately went to the red circle.  Evolutionists would tell you, that this tiny bird has adapted to its environment, and has changed itself in order to survive its surroundings.  I just read an article recently that stated these birds "co-evolved" with the flowers they feed from?!

In other words, flowers change, therefore, the bird has to change in order to feed?  Really?  I may be simple-minded, and some would shake their head in agreement with that statement, but, I find it much more exhilarating to believe in God, Who, created a flower to specifically feed the amazing hummingbird in order for it to sustain its life!

Wanna know why?  Glad you asked!!  If God is that meticulous in His design detail for a small creature like the hummingbird, how much more meticulous is He for the highest order of His creation...the human being?  Even Jesus said in Matthew 10:29, 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.[a] 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

You may not feel as though you are worth much.  Most of us suffer with intimidations and inward feelings of unworthiness.  God doesn't want you to feel like that!  He surrounds us with nature as a constant reminder of just how amazingly attentive He is to every detail of life.  He programmed the hummingbird to know which flowers will give the richest nectar.  He created its eyes to detect certain ultraviolet shades of orange and red, so that it could find its feeding ground.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat (Psalm 19:1-6).

What inspired me to write this today?  God!  He wanted me to tell you just how special you are to His heart.  He placed these words in my soul, and I have the privilege of writing them down.  Maybe, just maybe, you will see a hummingbird today, and REALLY SEE it for the first time.  That little messenger will proclaim God's glory to you.

You may never read the Bible to delve into the loving heart of  God.  You may miss the richest blessing of your life by not finding the truth that will set you free!  But, should you take the time to really look at the details of a flower or the habits of a small bird, you will begin to understand the God Who created heaven and earth.

Everything God has created displays knowledge of Him.  He has put all of this forth, just to reach YOU!  Can you not see how much worth God has placed upon you?  He stripped Himself of all heavenly dignity, clothed Himself in the likeness of human flesh, just to come to this earth with His message of love, forgiveness, acceptance, and redemption.

It would be like Einstein coming to your house to help your child with 4th grade math!  It would be like Johann Sebastian Bach giving your child piano lessons!!   But, God, sent  a little hummingbird to me this morning to cause me to marvel at His unfailing love and meticulous care!

So, I pass this on to you!  I can only pray that you will see God with a different heart today.  I pray that within your ten to twelve hour "awake" time; you will awaken to God's love for you.  He used a lowly hummingbird and sparrow to remind you how much care He has for your life!

Loving Him and you,
Charlotte
