Psalms 19:14...May the words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Let us be exhorted today to think carefully of how we speak and how we think. Both are important to God. It is Him that we are to please.
He sees our thoughts. Psalms 139:4 says that before a word is on my tongue...the Lord "knows" all about it. Sometimes we get so caught in a way of thinking, we don't realize nor take into account whether it is pleasing our Father.
Proverbs 23:7 warns that a man can think one way, yet speak another. James 1:8 speaks of a man whose mind cannot stay fixed but first thinks one way and then another. He is called "unstable" and unable to receive from God.
It was a thought that satan used to deceive Eve that then led to Adam's rebellion. Thinking and speaking are serious actions before the Lord.
Philippians 4:8 gives us the way out of thinking that displeases God. It puts before us words such as.."true, excellent, honest, just, etc.". We need to fill our minds and our mouths with these things because it pleases the God Who sees both.
Take your heart to God's Word today and renew it. Fill your thoughts with His thoughts and then speak those thoughts out of your mouth. It is called confession or saying the same things God says.
God will be pleased. You will be blessed.
Loving Him and you,
Charlotte
